McDonnell Douglas F-4E Kurnass 2000

Back in 1980 Israel's Air Force decided to modernize their F-4E and, on 15th July 1987 the first prototype of a modernized F-4E flew for the first time. It was nicknamed Kurnass 2000.
It entered service with the IAF on 9th April 1988 and it differed from the F-4E basically in the avionics. It was a completely different airplane in spite of looking like the original F-4E.
It included a purpose-built APG-76 radar, a Kaiser wide-angle heads-up display that was considered the best in the world that covered 60% of the pilot's forward view, twice the angle offered by other systems which give information like speed, altitude, direction of flight, wind speed...
They served until 2004 when the last F-4E or Kurnass 2000 was withdrawn from active service in the IAF.
