ANF Les Mureaux 114

We have another French night fighter to present you today.

The ANF Les Mureaux 114 was a night fighter variant of the original 113 version which also had a field modified night fighter version.

In 1930 the Ateliers des Mureaux, joined with the Ateliers de Construction du Nord de la France (ANF) and their first airplane was the ANF Les Mureaux 110 and 111 both designed by André Brunet in order to take part in the 1928 reconnaissance airplane contest. The very first of these all-metal parasol airplane was flown in April 1931 being the first production model the ANF Les Mureaux 113, which was a reconnaissance airplane capable of performing light bombing missions and even night fighting missions.

Two production airframes were completed during the summer of 1933 as two-seat night fighter and were given the designation of ANF Les Mureaux 114 and were different from the 113CN basically in having an integrated searchlight on the center of the main wing.

It was powered by a 650hp Hispano-Suiza 12-cylinder liquid-cooled engine and it was armed with two forward-firing 7,7mm MAC machine guns in the fuselage and two Lewis guns in a flexible mounting in the observers' position.
